Girl's Weekend: Chicago

chicago2 Last weekend, I headed on a plane for a girl's weekend to Chicago. Since I haven't been to Chicago since I was a child, I was looking forward to explore this city. Before I headed to Chicago, I ask for suggestions of places to eat or must see's while in Chicago and I got so many great recommendations and I wish my weekend had lasted longer. One of my first stops in Chicago was having lunch at Portillo's. It was so good! I had the Italian Beef Sandwich dipped with fries and their famous Chocolate Cake Shake. YUM! ( Thanks guys for the tip!) After lunch, we decided to decided to do some local shopping including visiting my favorite store, Paper Source.

Another paper shop I visited was Paper Doll.  That was a really cute shop with tons of fun paper products and lots of gift ideas.  I am such a sucker for pretty paper and love finding fun shops like this one.

Next on our agenda that night was to attend the Be Crafty Workshop with Amanda + Jesse of Sweet Shop Lulu.  I was excited for a fun night of crafting and meeting friends in real life.

We made lunch plans at Giordano's  with Vana of Le Papier Studio.  I have known Vana through social media and recently had a business coaching session with her and it was so exciting to have a chance to finally meet in person. She was just as sweet as can be.chicago After lunch, I had to make sure I hit one of the places I had on my list to do for Chicago and that was to visit the Sprinkles ATM Cupcake machine! Talk about a busy place! The bakery itself had a line outside the door and so did the ATM but I waited my turn and got myself a yummy Strawberry cupcake and a little photo with the ATM, so fun!

It was such a fun weekend in Chicago and I wish I had more time to explore the city more and more space in my carry on that I was sure was going to explode if I put one more item in my suitcase. Cheers to Chicago! I can't wait to come back!
