Our Scottsdale Family Trip

Happy Monday friends! It’s my first day back in the office after our week in Scottsdale and I am already needing a vacation from our vacation! It was definitely a vacation we all needed and I was excited to show my boys what I love about Scottsdale! This trip was much different than my last one when it was a girl’s trip so I am excited to share where we stayed, ate, etc that will be perfect for a fun family getaway! For this trip, we stayed at The Holiday Inn Club Resorts and I can not recommend it enough if you are traveling with kids! The resort has huge rooms you can rent that include a dining room, full kitchen and living room. We rented a room with two bedrooms so the boys could spread out and have their own space and I love that they also come with a washer and dryer as well. The Holiday Inn Club Resort also have four different pools that you have access to which is so nice when you have kids and need to cool off from the high temps and they also have tons of kid friendly activities that your kids can do while you are staying there and most of them are free. it is also very centrally located close to my favorite shopping and eating areas as well.

I know so many of you have upcoming trips to Scottsdale so I wanted to share with you some of the resturants we ate at or have been too but didn’t get a chance to eat there this time around but they are definitely worth trying out.

favorite spots to eat

True Food Kitchen - Great spot for lunch, fresh ingredients and the Kale Guacamole is delish!

Isabella’s Kitchen - Great outdoor space

Diego Pops - Amazing Guacamole and queso plus the tacos are yummy too! Great little lunch spot

Olive + Ivy - This restaurant is so pretty and if you can get a seat outside, it has a gorgeous river as well plus the cheese board is really yummy!

The Mission - AMAZING table side guacamole and street corn dip! They have two locations and the old in Old Town is more fancy versus the one in Kierland Commons but both serve basically the same food.

Barrio Queen - Great spot for tacos and has a really cool environment.

Postinos - I LOVE this place and they have the best wine and are known for their amazing cheeseboards.

Culinary Drop Out - This restaurant has a cool outside area and great for kids to run around.

Hash Kitchen - Great spot for breakfast / brunch and they also serve the Billionaire bacon with Gold Flecks.

Scottsdale is also known for some great shopping spots and we definitely hit all those spots on this trip so let me break down the most popular shopping spots!

favorite shopping areas

Fashion Square - This is a indoor mall and has all the designer stores like Gucci , LV, Golden Goose etc.

Kierland Commons + Scottsdale Quarter - These are both outdoor shopping areas and are so fun and has an amazing vibe. I definitely think they have some amazing shopping there as well and the only thing it is lacking is the designer stores if you are looking for them in particular.

Tanger Outlet- This outlet was about 30 minutes away from where we were staying so it was easy drive and the highlight of it all was there is a Lulelemon Outlet which was the first stop I made and you can really find some great deals! I felt like they had a variety of items but they did tell me sizes go quick so I would suggest trying to get there right when they open.

Old Town - Another great outdoor area with more boutique type shops

Scottsdale is also known for their hiking trails and they have several great options for hikes. We really wanted to drive up to Sedona which is about an hour or way to jeeping but due to my poor planning, most spots were booked up or insanely expensive so we decided to just hike around where we were staying and because of the heat and having Tyler with us, we opted for a easy trail which was Gateway Loop in case we needed to cut the hike spot or turnaround. I also suggest going as easy as you can to help with the heat and bring a lot of water and wear a hat is possible.

Hiking Spots

Camelback Mountain - I think this trail is pretty intense and may be harder with little kids.

Pinnacle Peak
